SPRING 2025 RECAP

The sisters of KPhiG Gamma Chapter had an amazing Spring 2025 semester filled with service, fundraising, social, and recruitment events.

Throughout the semester, we also had the privilege of sharing our philanthropy, cancer awareness, with the Baylor, Waco, and national community. We raised money and awareness for Sunshine Kids, a nonprofit organization that helps children with cancer through support, donations, and group activities. Our largest annual event is C.A.R.E. Week: Cancer Awareness, A Real Effort! This nationwide philanthropic week allows Kappa Phi Gamma chapters and charters to serve and raise funds and awareness for our charity, Sunshine Kids. We hosted a Walkathon to raise awareness and funds for Sunshine Kids, along with a Gamma Chapter alumni’s relative, Kai Sarolia. Our C.A.R.E. Week also hosted a service event where our sisters wrote and drew notes on journal covers, along with assembled care packages and bracelets.
Our sisters also hosted a fundraiser earlier in February for Valentine’s Day where we sold chocolate covered strawberries and Dubai chocolate cups. We further had the opportunity to volunteer at the Salvation Army with Kappa Delta Chi (KDChi). Our sisters also had an amazing time fundraising with the Indian Subcontinent Student Association to promote their Gateway to India event by selling samosas and mango lassi!

To spread South Asian culture and celebration, our sisters also participated in the Indian Subcontinent Student Association (ISSA)’s Baylor Gateway to India. Our sisters performed a dance in their fashion show event, liaisoned to help the attending dance teams, and volunteered for the weekend. This allowed us to connect with and share our South Asian culture, food, and dances.

More exciting news - our Alpha Eta Line joined our sisterhood. The lovely ladies, Vedika, Anjana, and Zaafirah, are bright, inspiring young women who we are proud to call the future of Kappa Phi Gamma.
The Alpha Delta Line will also be fully graduating this Spring and Summer 2025. We appreciate all the work these ladies have done for our chapter as members of the Executive Board and active body. We wish them the best on their future endeavors and know they will keep KPhiG close to their heart.

As the Spring 2025 semester wraps up, our sisters are thankful for this past semester. We are excited for another semester of service, sisterhood, and sharing our philanthropy and values!
