Our sisters experienced an eventful, lively Spring 2024 semester filled with numerous rush, social, service, and fundraising events!

We have grown the Gamma Chapter with a group of outstanding, bubbly women - our Alpha Zeta line! They embody our principles and deeply care for our philanthropy, Cancer Awareness, and our sorority as a whole. We are excited to call them the future of our sisterhood and witness the growth and positivity that they will bring!

With new sisters entering our chapter, we are also proud to watch our three seniors graduate - Varshini, Poorvi, and Priyanka - as this semester comes to a close. These ladies are all a part of our Alpha Gamma line (2021) and have demonstrated leadership, kindness, and humor throughout their time in KPhiG. The remaining undergraduate sisters consistently look up to these three women as role models and sources of advice and comfort. We are excited to see the dental, graduate, and law schools that they attend, along with the impressive careers that are ahead of them.

Throughout this semester, we have also had the privilege to raise money for Sunshine Kids, a nonprofit organization that helps children with cancer. We held a Valentine’s Day fundraiser with the selling of chocolate covered strawberries and the KPhiG Splash Zone with the throwing of water balloons at sisters. Moreover, we hosted our biggest service initiative for our philanthropy week called C.A.R.E. (Cancer Awareness: A Real Effort!) Week at the beginning of April. C.A.R.E. Week is a weeklong series of events held by all KPhiG chapters and charters across the Nation to support the nonprofit organization our National Board partners with, Sunshine Kids. To take part in this initiative, our sisters attended a game night, Candlelight Vigil, and care package crafting. We also hosted a fundraiser as a part of this week with the selling of self-care kits. Not only does this week allow for our sorority to raise funds toward our philanthropy, but it also allows us to spread awareness of both cancer and South Asian culture nationally and around the Baylor/Waco community.

Our sisters additionally enjoyed numerous social events to promote bonding and unity within our sorority. KPhiG hosted a Take-A-Date at Top Golf Waco in February. We also enjoyed Sisterhood Bonding at Slow Rise on the Brazos in April, along with Officer Bonding with pot painting in March. Further, we hosted a Formal with pictures and brunch at Electric Shuffle in Dallas, TX. As the semester wraps up, we also hosted a Senior Night at Dichotomy Coffee where we watched videos made by active and alumni sisters, gifted custom tote bags filled with their favorite items, and wished our seniors luck and success in their future endeavors.

A few additional fun events that our sisters participated in was Baylor’s Gateway to India’s Fashion Show, where various groups and organizations perform different South Asian dances prior to intermission. We also attended an informative retreat to realign as a chapter with a special visit from our Regional Advisor, Radha!

As our Spring 2024 semester ends, we are excited to see what the upcoming months bring for our sisters. We are blessed to have experienced such a lively semester filled with strong sisterhood and events!
